- Developing an integrated regional approach for combating drugs. This includes
coordination between the Arab countries and international agencies.
- Exchanging intelligence on criminal activities related to drugs.
- Implementing joint operations for fighting drug trafficking.
Benefitting from technology and the internet to enhance the role of family and civil society in combating drugs by:
- Increasing the awareness of families and civil society about online drug trafficking.
- Supporting drug prevention programs in schools and local societies.
Focusing on preventing the risks associated with drugs and psychotropic substances by:
- Launching digital media campaigns at the national and regional levels to foster social
awareness about drugs and ways of drug prevention.
- Establishing a regional electronic platform to enhance life skills, protect from drugs, and
offer psychological support for recovered individuals.
Addressing the new challenges related to combating online trafficking in drugs and psychotropic substances by:
- Strengthening the capabilities of government security forces to confront technological
innovations of criminal organizations.
- Enhancing legislation and laws to incorporate digital forensics in the judicial process.
- Combating the use of cryptocurrencies for drug trafficking.
Utilizing the International Narcotics Control Board “INCB” platforms such as IONICS
SNOOP to enhance cooperation and facilitate investigations concerning trafficking in
psychotropic substances and drugs.
Establishing interregional coordination working groups to combat drug trafficking
within a comprehensive approach.
Conducting effective workshops, training courses, and awareness-raising activities for
frontline officers from police and customs bodies for defining the new types of drugs and
how to be monitored and safely handled.
